The main hall of the pharmacy house was occupied by men and women of integrity as the President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, FPSN inaugurated the members of the committee for Biogenerics integrity award for Pharmacists in public hospitals in Nigeria.

The President in his powerful speech appreciated each and all members of the committee for accepting to serve the society. He observed that the committee is made up of men and women of honour, integrity and good judgement.

He said Biogenerics Nigeria Limited made a commitment of one Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) prize for the PSN integrity committee award 2018 with the aim of graduating to N5m in coming years ahead which will cover all the technical groups of PSN. For now it is only for Pharmacists working in the government hospitals.

This award will be an annual prize, with the maiden edition this year. The aim of this prize is to promote more integrity in the Nigerian pharmaceutical landscape and by extension the whole healthcare system.

The President reiterated his confidence in the committee based on the characteristics of its members.

  5. Pharm. Tijanni Yahaya Hamza (Member)
  6. Pharm. (Mrs) Chinyere Osakwe (Member)

In her response, The Chairman of the committee, Pharm. (Dr.) Mrs Dere Awosika appreciated the President for his enormous contribution to the Profession as the President of PSN. She added, Pharm. Yakasai is a detribalised Nigerian, who represents service with integrity.

She thanked the President for thinking about the need to reward integrity in the profession. She opined, “Honour is synonymous with integrity and as men of honour our lives should reflect integrity.”

She continued, The task ahead is enormous, the committee will set up criteria for integrity, good judgement and commitment. There will be equal opportunity for all pharmacists in the public hospitals(from interns to Directors of pharmacy).

We give all the glory to God and I salute you Mr. President, she concluded.
