Sir Demola Aladekomo

Demola Aladekomo is the Founder CHAMS Group and the current Chairman of the board, Chams Plc. He started CHAMS in 1985 as the first indigenous computer maintenance company in Nigeria.

Over the years, the company has pioneered many new technologies and provided intelligent solutions to a wide range of public and private initiatives. Some of his achievements in the field of IT practice include the first wide-area-network on PCs in Nigeria, the first company to venture into card technologies in Nigeria and the Guinness Book of Records recognition for Chams City Innovation.

With a commitment and passion to provide solutions that leads to the enhancement of the living standards of the Nigerian people, he led the team that won the concession on the Identity Management Program in Nigeria among other trail blazing efforts in Nigeria.

Ademola is acknowledged as the brain behind the success of the first e-payment card in Nigeria birthed by the Valucard project working with a consortium of 5 indigenous Banks. Demola was also part of the first Chief Executive Program at the Lagos Business School (LBS) and served as the President of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA) in 2012 – 2014.

He also served President of the Nigeria Computer Society in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS), a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a fellow of the Computer Professional Registration Council (FCPN). He is the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees: Volunteer Corps, a non-governmental organization committed to professional volunteerism for public school education. Demola also served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SmartCard Society of Nigeria. He retired as the Group Managing Director of Chams Group in 2015 and was appointed as the Chairman, Board of Directors in March 2020.

Gavin Young

Gavin is a seasoned Fintech professional with a proven track record in managing companies, subsidiaries of listed companies and geographical areas (Africa) with a specific focus on all areas of Electronic Banking and Fintech; Issuing, acquiring, switching etc. Primary areas of specialization include; payments switching and processing, developing and managing payment card schemes, terminal and other electronic infrastructure management, transaction processing, transaction acquiring systems, and mobile payments.

His career has entailed; 20 years at First National Bank of South Africa where he implemented most electronic banking and card systems and infrastructure; 7 years at Visa as Country Manager, sub-Saharan Africa (South Africa, UK and Nigeria) where, after developing the Visa CEMEA strategy for Nigeria, volunteered to reside in Nigeria in order to work with all payment entities to implement Visa cards and payments across all banks in Nigeria.

He also grew the number of Visa issuing banks in sub-Saharan Africa, from 22 to over 120 in 4 years.
In 2007 he joined UBA as Senior General Manager Cards and issued over 5 million Visa payment cards in under 12 months. Since 2009, he has worked (on a full-time and part-time basis) with the Chams PLC Group of companies as MD of ChamsSwitch and Deputy MD of Chams Mobile, amongst other roles.

He is entrepreneurial and skilled at building organizations, partnerships and alliances, formulating business strategy and negotiating business agreements.

Gavin was is the current Group Managing Director of Chams Plc. Chams PLC has a strong brand and extensive history, having delivered integrated identity management and intelligent business solutions for over 30 years. Today, Chams continues to deliver innovative solutions which enriches and improves lives.

Mrs. Mayowa Olaniyan

Mayowa Olaniyan is an insightful business executive with sturdy managerial expertise. Until her appointment as an Executive Director, she was the Chief Strategist and Financial Officer for the Chams Group. A resilient administrator with thorough and energetic expertise in business development and management, business leadership having to work with the C-Level Executives, Board of directors, Regulatory Authorities and other key stakeholders in ensuring the achievement of company’s business and financial objectives.

Mayowa’s resilience and expertise span across years of ardent commitment to excellence. She started her career as an Audit Trainee with Bolaji Finnih from January 1994 to December 1994, she moved to SCOA Nigeria PLC where she served meritoriously for 13 years in various managerial capacity; from Accountant to Divisional Accountant/Admin. Mayowa later progressed to Tranter International Ltd as the Group Finance and Admin Manager serving for 3 years.

She joined Supercard Limited (a then subsidiary of Chams PLC) as AGM Corporate Services where she oversaw the corporate activities of the company. She became the Group Head, Internal Audit and Risk Management of Chams Group between 2011 and 2012, GM Finance and Accounts, Chams PLC between 2012 and 2013, GM Special Duties in 2014 and Chief Financial Officer in 2015, a position she held until her appointment as an Executive Director, Chams PLC.
Over the years, Mayowa has established a record of successes by significantly growing business value and maximizing profits through internal control and efficiency. Mayowa led the implementation of one of Chams PLC’s most successful public-private partnership project, deriving costs optimization for the partnering state government and in turn achieving increased earnings for the company.

A chartered accountant of repute, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), the global body for Professional Accountants. Mayowa holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and Edinburgh Business School, UK, a degree and postgraduate diploma from Oxford Brooks University, UK. She is an alumna of NANYANG Technology University, Singapore and the prestigious Pan Atlantic University (Lagos Business School), Nigeria.
Mayowa Olaniyan serves on the board of several organizations within the Chams group and other organizations.

Mr. Olusegun Oloketuyi

Segun Oloketuyi, B.Sc, MBA. FCA, serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Wema Bank Plc. Mr. Oloketuyi served as General Manager for Business Optimization Division of Skye Bank Plc and served as Executive Director of its Business Development.

He served as Deputy General Manager in charge of Corporate and Commercial Markets of Polaris Bank Plc (formerly Prudent Bank Plc) since joining in January 2000 and served as its Executive Director of Finance and Enterprise Risk Management for Polaris Bank Plc since January 2006.

Dr. Evans Woherem

Dr. Evans Woherem is a renowned industry player with clout and he brings this requisite experience and expertise to the Chams Board as a director.

Dr. Woherem worked for Lloyd’s Register, London, as a Knowledge Engineer and rising to the position of a Senior Consultant (Software Engineering) and Manager, Continuous Process Improvement, ABSA Bank, South Africa, as a Senior Consultant and Group Head, Business Architecture, FSB International Bank Plc, as a General Manager, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, as an Executive Director, First Interstate Bank, as Deputy Managing Director and Unity Bank Plc, as Group Executive Director.

He was the pioneer Chairman, Interswitch Nig. Ltd., Director, NIBSS (Nigerian Interbank Settlement Systems), Director, Northlink Insurance Brokers and Chairman, Pelican Printers, a subsidiary of Unity Bank Plc.

He holds the AMP of Harvard Business School, a PhD in Expert Systems from the University of Manchester, an MA (Econ.) from the University of Manchester, an M.Sc in Cognition, Computing and Psychology from the University of Warwick, England, and a B.Sc in Behavioural Science from the University of La Verne, California.

Dr Woherem is the author of two key books on Information Technology and has published numerous academic papers in International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is regarded internationally as a leading authority on Information Technology in Africa.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria, an Honourary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN).

Alh Y.A. Modibbo

Alh. Y. A. Modibbo holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture (1982), Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance (1988) and Business Management (1997).

With over 16 years of active Banking experience, Modibbo rose to the position of Assistant General Manager at Stanbic Bank Nigeria Limited before leaving the banking industry.

Mr. Modibbo joined Tiddo Securities Limited in 2001 as Managing Director. He was a Director of the Central Securities Clearing System Limited (a subsidiary of the Nigerian Stock Exchange) from 2001 to 2007 and was a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) for three years (2005 – 2007). He is a member of the Council of Abuja Securities & Commodity Exchange Plc.

Modibbo also served on the Boards of Amana Capital Pension Limited, Capital Microfinance Bank Limited, and Beta Courier Services Limited. He was a Zonal Council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (Yola/Kano/Kaduna zone) and member of the Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST).

He later rejoined Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and served variously as Head, Public Sector and Non-Interest Banking from April 2012 to September 2016. He was recently appointed the Vice Chairman of Tiddo Securities Limited. Alh. Y. A Modibbo is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS).

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo is a Pastor, an Accountant, a Thinker, a Social Reformer and a Writer. He obtained a B.Sc combined honours degree in Economics and Accounting in 1982 from the University Of Hull, England, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in July 1986 and attended a Business Management Course at the Harvard Business School, Boston in 2011.

Pastor Ituah is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria, member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, member American Society of Industrial Security and member, American Institute of Management.

He sits on the board of several corporate, charitable organizations and NGOS as Chairman and Director, they include, FAMAD Nig. Plc., FINATRUST MFB, The Clinix Diagnostic Center, NSIA Insurance, Standard Bearers School, the Courage Education Foundation, Edensfield Health Initiative, ELPIS Mental Health Initiative, Heritage Homes, and others.

He is the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the TIMELESS Media Group, Chairman Trinity Media and Films, Celebr8 Music Festival and producer Courage Center TV series. He has written and published several articles, papers and books.

Pastor Ituah has sat on various government panels’ (State and Federal), and has been an adviser/consultant to government at different levels. He is on the Council of the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce and the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association. He is the Pastor-in-Charge, Trinity House.

Mr. Tomiwa Aladekomo

Mr. Aladekomo has served as a member of the board of ChamSwitch Plc from January 2015 before his recent appointment as a non-executive director on the board of Chams Plc. He has also worked for Smartcity Resorts as director, where he supervised the management team and created strategies with the board.

As a part of his 9 years of professional experience, Aladekomo served as Art Manager for Atlantic Records in New York. He has worked with several media groups which include THISDAY, Guardian, Quirk Limited, and Big Cabal Media where he currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer.
