WIMBIZ pays Chams Holdco courtesy visit

Leaders and key members of the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) NGO paid a courtesy visit to Chams Holdco on Tuesday, 27th June 2023.

The delegation was led by Hansatu Adegbite, Executive Director, WIMBIZ and Chukwunonso Onny- Ezeh, Chairman, Advocacy Committee.

Amongst other things, the visit was made to explore partnership with Chams Holdco and to empower more women to occupy executive and senior management positions.

Speaking on behalf of the delegates, the Executive Director and the Advocacy Committee Chairman explained that when women are part of decision- making, they can speak more to issues that affect women in the workplace and make policies that help women thrive.

The representatives also highlighted the benefits of WIMBIZ’s mentoring programmes including networking and the opportunity to be mentored by experts across diverse fields.

On her part, the Group Managing Director, Mayowa Olaniyan, revealed the company’s commitment to gender representation, which is evidenced by her leadership and appointment of women in key positions on the board and at the management level.

With the company secretary, Yetunde Emmanuel, Finance Manager, Ifeoma Obasanya, and the Brand Communications Lead, Miss Fabikun in attendance, Chams Holdco had an all- female team represented.

Amongst its key objectives, WIMBIZ pushes for at least 35% gender representation at the board level.

Women have been running the WIMBIZ NGO for over two decades and their flagship conference which holds annually in November attracts an average of 1,500 delegates from the business, corporate, public and development sectors.
